Find an Australian publisher
Browse 13 publications with public contribution guidelines. Each entry explains the audience, publishing arrangement and terms worth checking before you write.
Editorial does not automatically mean free. “Cost to submit” is what you may pay the publisher; “Writer payment” is what the publisher may pay you. “Not stated” means its public guidelines do not say. Paid posts can still bring relevant visitors; traffic and acceptance are not guaranteed.
Choose one topic or publishing type. “Show all publishers” resets the list.

How this list is checked
We reviewed public contribution pages and relevant advertising information on 17 October 2026. Dates show when we checked a source or reviewed a flagged summary. They do not confirm that the publisher is accepting submissions or independently verify its readership. Microbite has not personally submitted to these publications.
Fees, links and availability can change. Confirm the terms directly, especially where payment, membership or publishing rights are involved. Report an outdated listing.

Choose a publisher your audience would read
- Start with relevance. Look for readers who would benefit from your experience. A specialist audience can be more useful than a broad website with an impressive traffic claim.
- Read recent articles. Check the subjects, writing quality, contributor bios and whether the website is still publishing content for its audience.
- Confirm the arrangement. Ask about fees, editorial review, ownership, exclusivity, permitted links and how paid content is disclosed. “Unpaid contributor” does not tell you whether a placement fee applies.
- Ask what distribution includes. A sponsored article might receive website, newsletter or social exposure. Ask for relevant, dated readership evidence and distinguish estimates from measured results.
- Decide what success means. Useful outcomes can include referral visits, reader engagement, enquiries and recognition of your expertise. A backlink alone does not establish value.
Editorial and sponsored posts explained
Editorial contributions are selected for their relevance and usefulness. Publication remains the editor’s decision. Some publishers do not pay writers, and some do not state whether submitting costs anything.
Sponsored or paid placements involve a commercial arrangement. They can introduce your business to relevant readers, but ask what you are buying: publication, promotion, a review, or something else. A processing fee by itself does not explain how the article will be labelled.
For paid links, Google recommends rel="sponsored"; nofollow is also acceptable. These links can still be clicked by readers. They should not be sold as a guaranteed ranking improvement. See Google’s guidance on paid and other outbound links.
Write a pitch an editor can use
Choose one specific idea, show why it belongs in that publication, and explain what you can contribute from your own knowledge. Read the guidelines first: some publishers want a pitch, while others require a complete article.
For a WordPress specialist, potential angles include checking whether enquiry forms deliver, choosing a usable backup process, or explaining a practical website-maintenance routine. Support the article with real experience; do not invent client results.

Common questions
Are these free guest posting sites?
This directory includes editorial, paid and unspecified arrangements. We only call a submission free when a publisher explicitly confirms there is no placement fee. Most pages here do not state that, so ask before writing.
Can a sponsored article still send traffic?
Yes. Readers can follow links from a sponsored article, newsletter or social promotion. The amount and relevance of that traffic depend on the audience, article and distribution; a sponsored label does not establish a traffic forecast.
Can I publish the same article on my own website?
Check the publication’s rights and exclusivity terms first. Some require exclusive content or restrict republication. Get permission before reusing an accepted article.
Will a guest post improve my Google rankings?
There is no guaranteed ranking outcome. Focus on a useful contribution for a relevant audience. Publishers control acceptance, editing and link policies; paid links should be qualified appropriately.
Keep improving your own website
Publishing elsewhere works best alongside a useful website of your own. Start with clear content, working enquiry routes and practical SEO.
